Government is putting in place a package of measures to encourage and support people to carry out proposals in each Local Nature Recovery Strategy:
How will the LNRS be delivered?
The LNRS Local Habitat Map shows where the potential measures to recover nature would be most effective. The LNRS intends to guide where nature recovery efforts are focused for greater collective impact, but there is no requirement to carry out the measures suggested.
Data and Monitoring:
- Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre (CBDC): Acts as the hub for storing and sharing data. They will use this data to track our progress towards the priorities and develop future versions of the Local Habitat Map when the LNRS is reviewed.
- Reporting: Regular monitoring will track progress, which will help to show where we are doing well and where gaps are.
- Review cycle: The LNRS will be reviewed and republished every 3 to 10 years to respond to new data and changing environmental pressures.
Collaboration:
- Collective effort is to delivery, where individuals, businesses, and government bodies share data and align their projects with the mapped potential measures. This will help to ensure landscape-scale recovery for nature that extends beyond political boundaries
